| Through the 2013 Summer Universiade,
GUOC (GuangJu Universiade Organizing Committee) will help university
students, the principal playersof the future, experience ‘friendship
and unity,’ a much greater reward than mere victory. Through
the vision encapsulated by the words ‘together’,
‘challenge’, ‘cration’, and ‘unity’,
we seek to realize an inspirational moment in which everyone
in the world becomes one. |

 |
| “The Greatest Meeting of Our Lives” |
| We will create as many gathering places
as possible so that athletes can conveniently meet with each
other and freely build friendships. Also, to allow for ample
gathering time, travelling time will be shortened. Various cultural
events will be held inside and outside of the athletes’ village,
through which athletes can mix together and interact. |

 |
| “The Most Beautiful Challenge of Our Lives” |
The Universiade Games will provide an
optimal performance environment so that athletes can showcase
their full potentials and challenge their limits. GUOC will
provide support to the athletes to ensure their peak condition
in the operation of the athletes’ village and the Games.
The athletes’ village and all athletic venues will be centrally
located in close proximity so as to facilitate integrated Games
operation. |

 |
| “The Most Amazing Experience on
Earth” |
GUOC will utilize state-of-the-art Korean IT technology
in Games
operation to create a high-tech era for the Universiade
Games. Moreover, through various cultural events held
in connection with the National Asia Culture Hall, which
will open its door in 2012, participating university students
will be able to develop their respective creative talents
in GwangJu, the cultural capital of the Republic of Korea.

| “The Most Inspirational Gathering on Earth” |
| GwangJu is a sacred ground for democracy
and peace, as well as the hometown of the Nobel laureate Kim
Daejung, a former Korean president, and the location of the
Kimdaejung Convention Center. Through associated events during
the 2013 GwangJu Universiade, participating university students
can experience the spirit of solidarity, transcending the limits
of nationality, ethnicity, religion, and beliefs. |
